Myth: Most abuse is just a one-off incident done in a moment of madness.

Truth: Abusers go to great lengths to keep a child silent so that they can continue abusing them for many years.

They put a lot of time, effort and energy into not getting caught. It is a well thought-out act that is not ‘done in a moment of madness’.
